Denise Riley Okun, M.Ed., M.S, FACHCA was elected president of the MA Chapter of ACHCA in 2008 after serving as Vice President for four years, and Education Coordinator for 7 years. Denise began her career in healthcare as a speech-language pathologist and has held positions as a rehabilitation coordinator, case manager and business development director prior to becoming an administrator in 2001. She holds degrees from Emerson College, Northeastern University and Lesley College. Past accomplishments include membership on the ACHCA National Education committee, and numerous speaking engagements at state and national programs. Denise recently presented a poster session entitled “Achieving Quality Outcomes through Consistent Staffing” at the Mass Senior Care annual trade show.

William Bogdanovich, MOD, CNHA, FACHCA became the Administrator of Liberty Commons in 1988. Under his direction the company has expanded to provide outpatient rehabilitation services, hospice, and assisted living services. He is presently a partner in the North Chatham organization. He has earned a Masters Degree in Organizational Development from Bowling Green State University, a Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management from Harvard, and a B.S. in Management from Bentley College. He has served on numerous boards and committees over the past two decades including DPH’s DNR task force, and is currently serving the boards of Mass. Senior Care, Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, the EOEA Ombudsman Advisory Group, and the DPH Informal Dispute Resolution (IDR) panel, in addition to the MA Chapter of ACHCA.

Linda Hunter is the Administrator of Emerson Village, A Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Watertown. Linda has been in long term care for more than 25 years and has been a licensed Administrator for 18. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stonehill College and a Masters in Public Administration and Health Administration from Suffolk University. She holds a Geriatric Health Training Certificate from Boston University School of Public Health and a National Certification for Aging Service Professionals (CASP) from the University of North Texas affiliated with LeadingAge. Linda is a Fellow status of the American College of Health Care Administrators.

Bob Driscoll NHA, B.A. M.B.A. is the Chief Operating Officer for Salter Healthcare Inc. His career spans 35 years in the nursing home field. He has a degree in Economics from Providence College and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Lowell. In addition to many years working as a Nursing Home Administrator, in the 1990’s Bob was the Director of the Bureau of Long-Term Care in at the Massachusetts Rate Setting Commission.

Bill McGinley is the Executive Director of Whitney Place at Natick Assisted Living Residence and Administrator of Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Natick. He has been in the field of Long Term Care since 1980. He holds an MBA from Boston University with a concentration in Health Care Management. He is a Fellow of the America College of Health Care Administrators (FACHCA). He is also a Certified Nursing Home Administrator (CNHA), Certified Administrator of Sub-Acute Care (CAS), and a Certified Assisted Living Administrator (CALA). He is the past President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators. He is a founding member and past chair of the board of trustees of the Metrowest Community Healthcare Foundation. Mr. McGinley serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Resident Assistant magazine. He sits on the board of directors of Kids Connect-Natick and the Natick Education Foundation.

Louise Clough, FACHCA, has been the Director of Clinical & Administrative Support at Covenant Health Systems since 1996. She is a registered nurse as well as a licensed nursing home administrator. She received a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Boston College and Master’s degrees in business administration and in nursing from Boston University. She is currently on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Hospice & Palliative Care Federation and represents the Mass Chapter ACHCA on the Mass Culture Change Coalition, Mass Adult Immunization Coalition and the Board of Registration of Nursing’s Patient Safety Initiative regarding medication administration in nursing homes.

Stephen L. Esdale, CNHA, Fellow, has spent close to 30 years in Long Term Care. The first 19 years Steve progressed from AIT to Senior Vice President of the Flatley Company overseeing six facilities for twelve years. Well known throughout New England and nationally, Steve has served as the National Chair of the American College of Health Care Administrators, the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators, Chair of the Mass Senior Care Association, President of AHCA Region One, and President of the New England Alliance of the American College of Health Care Administrators. Steve came to long term with an Educational and Entertainment Background.

Dennis Lopata, CNHA, FACHCA became the Executive Director of Life Care Center of Wilbraham in 2007. His career in Healthcare includes 28 years in both the Acute Care and Extended Care settings. He has a MBA from Western New England College and BS from Worcester State University both involving concentrations in Health Care Administration. Dennis is a Board Member of the East of The River Chamber of Commerce, Scantic Valley YMCA fund raising committee, Ambassador with the Mass Senior Care Association and a former President of the Rotary Club of Gardner, MA.

Susan L. LaNinfa, FACHCA, CNHA, CALA is currently the Administrator at Pawtuxet Village in Warwick, Rhode Island. Sue has been a healthcare administrator for 20 years with Assisted Living and Long Term Care experiences in both MA and RI healthcare centers and is also an ACHCA member in both states. She obtained a BS, Health Services Administration degree from Providence College, and both a MBA, Health Services and CAGS, Marketing from Bryant University, Smithfield, Rhode Island. Two extraordinary experiences she recalls are testifying at health committee hearings in CT and MA as an advocate to Certified Medication Technicians and traveling to Guam to recruit international nurses and certified nursing assistants from Southeast Asia.

Sister Jacquelyn McCarthy, CSJ, is a Sister of St. Joseph of Boston. She is a graduate of the Laboure College, Dorchester, Massachusetts with a degree in Nursing. She received her Bachelors’ degree at St. Joseph College, Standish, Maine and a Masters in Health Care Administration from Framingham State College, Framingham, Massachusetts and in 1988 became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She has worked in a variety of capacities at Bethany Health Care Center including Staff Nurse, Nurse Supervisor and was the Director of Nursing for eight years. Sister was Administrator at Santa Maria Nursing Home, Cambridge, Massachusetts and Wingate at Brighton, Massachusetts. For the past 13 years, she has been the CEO/ Administrator at Bethany Health Care Center.

Sister Jacquelyn is a member of the Board of Directors of the American College Health Care Administrators, MASS Chapter, a member of the Board of Directors of Notre Dame Long Term Care, Worcester, MA, a member of the Informal Dispute Resolution Committee, Department of Public Health, and a Health Care Consultant National Religious Retirement Office, Washington, DC.

Sr. Jacquelyn was named Health Care Champion by Boston Business Journal, August, 2009, and was also awarded the AMDA Foundation Evercare Award for improving the quality of life Person Living in long term care facilities, presented at the Annual AMDA Convocation, March, 2009.

Patrick McManus, NHA, MBA, MHA, is presently Administrator for Poet’s Seat Health Care Center. His career spans more than 30 years in Health Care Administration. Patrick had been in Acute Care Administration for 15 years prior to entering into Long Term Care Administration. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio, a MBA from Long Island University, Brookville, N.Y. and a MHA from George Washington University, Washington, DC. He is actively involved in the regional Home Care Services Corp., the Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, and Chariots of Hope.

Joanne Shaw, NHA became the Administrator of Concord Health Care Center in 2009. Her healthcare clinical and administrative career spans more than twenty years which includes both the short and long term care markets. Her degree in Business Administration Healthcare Management is from New Hampshire College. Past accomplishments include Executive Director of the Year, Area Executive Director, AHCA facility Quality Award recipient, Above & Beyond District Award, Community Rotary member and Local Emergency Planning Committee seat.

Christine M. Vitale, CNHA, FACHCA, became the Administrator of the Fall River Jewish Home in 1992. She has held variety of executive level positions in health care over the past 30 years; first in acute care hospital settings and later in long term care. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with distinction, from The Pennsylvania State University, and her Master of Public Health in Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Professional accomplishments include Fellowship and Certification by the American College of Health Care Administrators. She was a member of the board of trustees of MassAging for 10 years, and has served the Massachusetts Chapter as a board member, the chapter secretary, and since 2002 as the chairman of the Business Affiliate program. Over her career she has been active in many professional associations, has made presentations to a variety of audiences, and has been active in volunteering in her community.
